Do I have to stay with my child throughout class?

For Levels 1, 2, and our Saturday Mixed Ages classes, YES! A caregiver must be with their child throughout class. Caregivers also must attend playdates and Musical Storytime. Levels 3, 4, and Kindermusik Musicians are DROP OFF classes. Thursday MIXED AGES is also a DROP OFF class.

What if I am not musical? Do I have to sing?

Singing is optional and not required for caregivers or your child. No musical skills are required. Kindermusik is a "come as you are" learning environment that encourages PROCESS over performance.

Group classes are a great way to enrich your child’s learning and supplement school groups. Can I make up lessons?

We have important updates to our MAKE-UP policy. Consistent attendance is the most important component of learning and progression. Please know that we want you to get the lessons you paid for, and offer make-up options as outlined below if you or your student are unable to attend.

Private lesson clients are granted SIX make-up lessons per year from the date of enrollment. Make-up lessons are scheduled at the teacher’s discretion and are subject to availability.

Clients may use their six makeup lessons throughout the year. Any additional missed lessons will NOT be made up.

*If you do NOT notify our front desk of your absence prior to the start of the lesson time, the lesson will NOT be eligible for a makeup.** NO EXCEPTIONS. You can notify us by calling us at 703.600.9590 or by emailing us at lessons@potomacmusic.com.

We do not offer make-up lessons for make-up lessons. Please stay home if you are sick! This includes having covid & flu symptoms, or vomiting within 24 hours before your lesson. If you are too sick to go to work or school, you are too sick to come to your lesson.
