Kindermusik Kamp
Looking for an affordable summer camp for your preschooler or Kindergartener? Try our Kindermusik half-day camps at Potomac Music in Lorton Station Town Center. We use the power of music as we take summer road trips, explore the beach, and meet new friends. Tuition includes books, a digital album, and a Kindermusik instrument. Join us to embark on music & movement activity sequences that are engaging, research-based, child-centered, developmentally appropriate, and creatively designed to set the stage for optimal multi-sensory learning. Mixed-age classes are perfect for families with more than one young child and accommodate all levels of education and musical interest.

Ukulele Adventures Camp
Your young musician will have a blast at our Ukulele Adventures Camp! We'll play outdoor sports, and fun games, make a new craft each day, and learn the basics of a ukulele. We'll learn how to properly hold and play the ukulele, basic chords and melodies, and a couple of songs to share with you by the end of the week. Your child will learn the basics of note reading, rhythm skills, ensemble skills, and the basics of a ukulele. Potomac Music's Summer Adventures Series is specialized for children ages 6 - 10 with minimal to no experience playing an instrument and features games, sports, fun outside, arts & crafts, PLUS the basics of a ukulele. Campers will learn chords, rhythms, and a few songs to share with you at the end of the week. Class sets of ukuleles are provided; campers may also bring them from home. Each camp finishes with a pizza party on Friday!

Accelerando Adventures
Accelerate your child's love of music this summer! We will sing, move, learn percussion instruments with mallets, perform songs with BoomWhackers, and more. This camp complements and enriches your child's musical studies or is a perfect place to start for inspiration and joy. Campers receive a mallet instrument to keep. This general music camp allows children to explore the world of music, be immersed in instrument discovery, build a musical foundation, gain an appreciation for all different types of music, and foster a lifelong love of music. They'll be able to create harmony and be exposed to various instruments such as glockenspiels, dulcimers, percussion instruments, and more. Our small group instruction leaves children feeling uninhibited to express themselves through music! The camp week ends with an exceptional performance to share with family.

Rock Band Camp
Here's your chance to be a rockstar! Your rising rocker will be inspired by our Rock Band Camp this summer. Our fun-filled camp will allow your child to jam out to their favorite songs, play in a group setting, create their own pieces, and have a blast – all while developing their ensemble skills, core technique building, rhythmic and melodic dictation skills, and more! Rock Band Camps at Potomac Music are designed for school-aged guitar, bass, drum, vocalist, and keyboard players ages 8 - 12. Each camp week includes developing ensemble skills, learning new techniques and rhythm skills, exposure to new genres, and creativity. Campers can also socialize, have fun, and collaborate with their peers! We prepare a short performance at the end of the camp week to share with campers' families. Each camp finishes with a pizza party on Friday!

Band and Orchestra Boot Camp
Your child will have a blast with us this summer as we learn new skills for band and orchestra programs in the fall! This camp helps your child better prepare for school ensembles, strengthen their skills throughout the summer, gain repertoire, and make new friendships! Campers will learn new music, new techniques, ensemble skills, rhythm skills, and more. Camp wraps up with a recording and performance for families. Our Band and Orchestra Camp is designed for school-aged students ages 8 - 14 with some experience with their strings or band instrument. Developing ensemble skills, learning new technique and rhythm skills, gaining repertoire, and more are part of each camp week. Campers can also socialize, have fun, and collaborate with their peers! We prepare a short performance at the end of the camp week to share with campers' families. Each camp finishes with a pizza party on Friday!

Advanced String Ensemble
This fun and rigorous camp will enhance your child's technical skills, enrich their repertoire, and support their love of music. Our special guest teacher, Molly Wise, is a professional violist and experienced camp instructor. Expect a chamber music experience like no other! This program perfectly complements your child's one-on-one lessons and school program instruction. String Ensembles at Potomac Music are designed for school-aged violin, viola, cello, and upright bass players. Core technique building, ensemble development, and rhythmic and melodic dictation skills are further developed, and repertoire enrichment and exposure to new genres are part of each camp week. Campers will also have downtime to socialize and have fun! We prepare a short performance at the end of the week to share with campers' families.

A successful video audition is required to participate in this program. Please complete the below online application form and follow audition video submission instructions. See Audition Material below.
Audition Material:
- Recording of both D major and G major two octave scales, ascending and descending, slurring two notes to a bow (both scales for all instruments)
- 45-60 second excerpt of solo repertoire
- Play the short rhythm exercise attached to this page on open strings
