Group Classes
Performing Group Ensembles are the culmination of music instruction at Potomac Music, beginning with Kindermusik, through Piano Express and private lessons. Group classes are for experienced students who will elevate their playing, and their ensemble, through collaborative performance. Beginner youth ukulele classes are coming Fall, 2025!

Group Piano Lessons
Learn Piano with Piano Express - a revolutionary method for learning piano!
Piano Express is a gamified, goal-oriented musical experience utilizing technology & teacher instruction that propels students to advance quickly. Students are graded by the connection of Chromebook and keyboard and can excel faster than waiting until their next lesson with teacher permission to pass a piece! The class breakdown is simple: 30 minutes of Assessment and 30 minutes of Discovery Time.
During Assessment Time, students work individually at their keyboard with a Chromebook, headphones, and music to pass their music with correct notes and rhythms. During Discovery Time, students collaborate as a small group, working on technique, theory, improvisation, sight-reading, and ear-training. This hour-long class caters to introverts and extroverts, grade-school students, and beyond. Students move faster, have more fun, practice more, and develop life-long music-making skills!
Tuition is just $159 per month (plus $20 annual materials fee).
Classes are 1 hour per week with a max recurring enrollment of 6 students per class (classes may occasionally expand to 8 to allow for make up students).

Symphonic Strings
Grab your bow and join a group in this mixed ensemble for developing players!
Open to violin, viola, cello, and upright bass players. At least one year of playing experience on performing instrument. Ability to fluently read melodic and rhythmic notation required. Students will perform during Potomac Music recitals at the end of the term.

Rock Band Class
Join a band and get ready to rock! Players are grouped into bands and will develop creative and focused listening skills. Original songs are encouraged to be developed, in addition to learning covers. Students will perform during Potomac Music recitals at the end of the term.
At least one year of experience on performing instrument is required.

Youth Ukulele Class
For beginner students. Grab a uke and learn to play chords, melodies, and songs! This small group class will develop listening, rhythmic, reading, and ensemble skills, as students learn to play with others. Students will perform during Potomac Music recitals at the end of the term.

For adult beginnner students. Grab a uke and learn to play chords, melodies, and songs! This small group class will develop listening, rhythmic, reading, and ensemble skills in a fun and encouraging environment with other adults.
