Wheeler Family

The Wheeler family has been with Potomac Music since it’s infancy stages when Annie taught lessons from her house in Burke. Becky and Kenny have been married for 21 years, but together for 32 years. Kennys career with the Department of Defense has moved them all over the US and Asia. In 2013 the family moved to West Springfield. Becky is a pediatric occupational therapist and specializes in working with children 0-3 years of age.

Kai who is 17 years old and a rising senior at West Springfield High School (WSHS) has been playing cello since she was in the 4th grade. Kai is a captain of the cross country, indoor track, and spring track teams. In the summer she swims for the Hunt Valley Stingrays. If that wasn’t enough to keep her busy you can also find her coaching swim and helping at the various music camps Potomac Music offers as a counselor.

Lane who is 14 years old and a rising freshman at WSHS started off playing the piano when he was 6 years old. He switched to violin in the 4th grade and loves all things music. He enjoys figuring out popular songs on his violin, guitar, and ukulele. Lane is an avid skateboarder, stunt man, and is now exploring running. He plans to join the cross country team at the high school this summer. In his spare time, Lane loves being outside exploring the various creeks and lakes with his friends.

The Wheeler family loves Potomac Music and has enjoyed watching the program grow and provide music opportunities for children and adults in the NoVa area. Music education has always been a priority for our family and we love Annie! In addition to being kind and patient, she pushes both kids just hard enough to help them grow and succeed with their instruments while keeping it fun!
