James Piccirello is a double bassist who originally grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in music education and also holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. James has been teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools since 2024, where he teaches at Lane Elementary School, Garfield Elementary School, and Laural Ridge Elementary School. Last year, James was awarded New Teacher of the Year at Lane Elementary School for being an exemplary first-year teacher teaching Elementary Strings. James has taught several private students who play the Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass throughout his time as a professional educator and when he was a student at James Madison University. James is a strong advocate for Music Education and creating a path for each student to be able to enjoy the art of music on their instrument. When Mr. Piccirello is not teaching Strings, he likes to cook for family and friends, plane watch at airports, and walk on nature trails.
