Edwin Barreno Castillo

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Edwin Barreno Castillo pursued his musical studies at Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, the University of Costa Rica, and the Escuela de Música Vida y Movimiento, Ollin Yoliztli in Mexico City. He recently completed an Artist Diploma at the Catholic University of America under the guidance of Professor Oleg Rylatko.His orchestral experience spans Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, and the United States. He has served as Principal Second Violin with the Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata (OJUEM), Concertmaster of the Orquesta Filarmónica Mexiquense (OFM), and Concertmaster of the Catholic University of America Symphony Orchestra. Since 2024, he has been a Fellow with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra.In addition to his performing career, Edwin has extensive teaching experience through social programs in Mexico and Costa Rica.
