
Ella Tomko
Ella Tomko is a cellist from Northern Virginia.
She earned her Bachelor’s of Music in Instrumental Performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
Ella has been playing the cello since it was introduced to her at age nine in the Fairfax public school system, and has since participated in many competitive programs.
In her secondary education she was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Youth Fellowship Program, where she studied and performed with members of the NSO at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Ella has a passion for chamber music, and has attended rigorous summer festivals such as the Castleman Quartet Program, LyricaFest, and Festival Napa Valley.
She has performed in masterclasses with inspirational musicians, such as Yo-Yo Ma, Paul Watkins, Charles Castleman, and the Danish String Quartet.
Ella has had many accomplished teachers, studying with Ross Harbaugh, Terry King, Mark Evans, and Kenneth Law.
Outside of performing, she founded and hosted the first classical radio show, Pando, at the University of Miami’s radio station, WVUM 90.5fm.
Ella believes music should be accessible to all and that it deserves to be enjoyed in all formats.
